In my experience, you will need a wheelchair starting about age 70. By age 80 you will wish you had never been born.
I have had AS since 1980 but only had this pain for about 5 years
My pain is usually just in my heels where my Achilles tendon attached to my heels. But sometimes it's so bad the burning goes to my feet and toes
My cane is my friend now. Maybe a wheelchair later as my back is falling apart.

I am in pain in middle of back most days gets me down and joints. Can this be the AS. Seeing a neurologist next month about this as may be neuropathic pain. Just fed up with it not knowing what is.?.

I am wondering if spondylitis causes pain throughout spine. I have trouble in neck, between shoulder blades, just above hips, and lower back. I also have arthritis in ribs and sternum and sometimes develop some mean costochondritis pain. I dont know if its all on account of spondylitis.
