I Am Wondering If Spondylitis Causes Pain Throughout Spine?

I am wondering if spondylitis causes pain throughout spine. I have trouble in neck, between shoulder blades, just above hips, and lower back. I also have arthritis in ribs and sternum and sometimes develop some mean costochondritis pain. I dont know if its all on account of spondylitis.

KarenNolan, I have spondy from lumbar to neck, i cant lay on my back or sides, I hurt bad laying down. I bought an 800 $ twin matress, and its tough too. Do you know what the air belt is,? It fits in the space between the rib cage and hips. You pump it up and it lifts the ribcage off the hips, stretching the lumbar to relieve pain and problems walking. I bought mine online from the mfg co. If you want more info let me know, i will send material and pics. I only use it after months, i havnt needed it for 6 months now. If you have it there the icy hot works well on a sore neck. Take care,

Sounds like mine, also with tingling and burning in feet, legs, arms and hands. Between the shoulder blades i found, was the hunping over of age that I helped with posture. My pain was inflammation, I use anti inflammatories, nsaids like advil . The low back pain in lumbar i use an airbelt that pumps up and lifts the eib cage off the hips. I use roll on ice hot on back of neck, and muscle relaxer to sleep. Exercise like a walk works to reduce pain and aches and keeps me mobile to work all day. Hope this helps, because i have found nothing else does.

Spondylitis can cause pain all up and down along the spine as well as the knees, feet, and ribs. It generally starts in the low back and radiates outward, but it can be different for everyone. I have pain in my low back, SI joints and every now and then my knees and ribs.
