I Am Wondering If Spondylitis Causes Pain Throughout Spine?

I am wondering if spondylitis causes pain throughout spine. I have trouble in neck, between shoulder blades, just above hips, and lower back. I also have arthritis in ribs and sternum and sometimes develop some mean costochondritis pain. I dont know if its all on account of spondylitis.

yep, all thru the spine, shoulders and upper body, I had a failed neck repair after breaking it. Im ate up with arthritis in neck. Shoulders, spine, hips, arms, fingers and toes, but its not a big deal after learning i needed to leave drs alone, walk to stay mobile, take advil liq gels (i buy them by the 200s) take 2 to get up and 2 to go to bed along with muscle relaxers. And a few shots of good whisky 😋 to get a nights sleep. I work 14 hours about every day, the max allowed in the trucking business, walk when i get up and before bed. No more narcotics, that make matters worse with mind altering addictions. For me this is the only way to have a life, and be able to do whatever i please. Its a long way from the months i spent in bed depressed, unable to go out. Never lay down with this spondy, its so hard to get back up.

Spondylitis can cause pain all up and down along the spine as well as the knees, feet, and ribs. It generally starts in the low back and radiates outward, but it can be different for everyone. I have pain in my low back, SI joints and every now and then my knees and ribs.

I would think so, I have spinal stenosis and bulging discs, spondylitis in my neck and lower back. I get pain in my legs and lower back nearly all the time, worse when I'm in bed and lay down. I also get pain in other places, a crushing feeling around my ribs like I've been hugged too tightly and pain in my legs and feet. Sometimes pain in my shoulders and ankles. I have arthritis in my thumbs and when this flares up I can't use the hand at all cos it's so painful, just brushing past something is agony. I have sciatica at times in either leg, luckily not both together as yet anyway. When this happens I find it difficult to get about and had to use a crutch last time for a few days until it eased off. It's unpleasant and annoying and you just have to find ways to deal with it many people are worse off than me, coming on this site makes me realise that I am lucky compared to some people who are much worse off than I am. I have found out much more from coming on here than the doctors have told me. Some symptoms may also be caused by the medication you are taking or made worse by the medication. X

I absolutely have pain in all the areas of the spine and in the sternum along with popping in the sternum in the ribs. Yesterday the pain between my shoulder blades was especially severe. So yes every section of my spine from the base of my skull to my tailbone hurts. It varies from day to day in severity but never goes away. my hip and tailbone pain keeps me siting for long periods and from even grocery shopping sometimes. I feel your pain!
