Tentative About Starting Humira
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was recently diagnosed with AS. I had started Celebrex 3 days before meeting my rheumatologist. The rheumatologist barely read my chart or listened to anything I was saying before telling me I need to start Humira. My inflammation markers are all down to normal ranges after Celebrex. My pain levels are drastically reduced - though I still have SI joint pain. The Dr said Humira stops the disease progression- which is why I need to start. If my inflammation is down, is the disease still… read more

Has Anyone Els Had This Experience I Mentioned Below?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have taken prednisone now for about 5 to 6 months. I feel almost normal on it with no major flares. My Dr. has tried me on Humira to replace the prednisone. I took one dose and got Covid, then had a HSV breakout, then a urinary track infection, then viral again. I couldn’t get over being sick for months. Needless to say I stopped taking Humira. Still on prednisone with no problems what so ever. Then he tried cosentyx on me. My first dose I got this migraine headache with pressure on my head… read more

Yes prednisone is definitely detrimental in the long term. Prednisone was never meant to be long term. It is used for acute only. And yes it is natural to feel so much better while taking prednisoneread more

Does A Biologic Make You Feel A Lot Better Or A Little?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am wondering how many of you are on a biologic?
Does it make you feel pretty normal or does it just help a little bit?
Do you have chronic pain or does it come and go?

Trying to decide if I need to switch biologics or if this is just the way life with AS is?
Thanks

I tried enbrel and had a allergic reaction to it..I only had 1 injection so I can't help with that..I was told cosentyx doesn't mess with your immune system as much as other biologics

A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am on my second biologic. I have tried Humira and 6 most later my body attacked the meds. I am now on Cosetyx. It's been about 8 weeks and I still feel so fatigued. I was thinking depression and is it still this disease?

Hi, thank you for the info, I take 1 Flintstones complete multivitamin daily. The chewable, my mother swore by it when she was with us, they are absorbed in your system much faster than pills.
