A neurologist did my immune labs, though I had lupus at first..some markers indicated towards that, sent me to rheumatologist (3mo.wait) who did more blood work and physical exam..

A rheumatologist tested me. I was referred by my pain management team after discussing that there had to be a bigger picture for myself since I had so many, what I call "micro-diagnosises". I felt something bigger can explain everything. And we were right!

You may have to do your own. There are various kits out there.

A rheumatologist is typically the specialist who would request genetic testing for conditions like spondylitis. They may order tests such as the HLA-B27 genetic marker to help diagnose spondylitis. If you are experiencing symptoms and suspect spondylitis, it is advisable to consult with a rheumatologist.
