How Many AS’ers Also Have Breathing Issues?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was told years ago that I have Restrictive Lung Disease. Way before my AS diagnosis.
Just wondering how many people also have Asthma, COPD or other lung impairments because it seems that there is a relation with AS.

Thanks 😊

Vaccines While On Biologics?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor wants me to get the shingles and pneumonia vaccines. Technically I’m not at that age yet, but due to the biologics they said I now qualify. Has anyone taken them while on biologics? Did you do ok with them, and how long after your infusion did you wait before getting them? If you had both at the same time, any downside to that? Sorry so many questions!

Shoulder Pain?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else have shoulder pain? It started a week ago.
I don’t remember doing anything that hurt it.
I can move it and use it but sometimes I get an awful pain. My arm also feels weaker than usual and shaky.
I know AS can affect the shoulder but not sure how common or what the symptoms are like.

Thanks

COVID Affects While On Two AS Medications.
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

Yesterday I worked a 12-hour shift at the hospital. My day was spent with extensive hours in one patient's room. She was there for other conditions. Due to a procedure scheduled, she was given a COVID test. It resulted in a positive. When I let her know, she cried, "What else can go wrong"? I just gave her time, knowing, this news was compounded by her other issues. I said a prayer for her, my coworkers, and myself silently. Today I called each appointment I have scheduled for this week. Each… read more
