Sometimes you might be developing scarring in throat tissues. I had to have mine stretched out several times before due to GERD, acid reflux scarring the areas and tightening them up making swallowing a problem

Yes I've had problems at different times, depending what im eating. I don't eat chunks of things, I cut things up smaller and it helped.

I had various swallow tests done that indicated no abnormalities. That made me think that I should be in control of my swallowing. I have always eaten very slow, chewing very carefully. I still have liquids slide into my airway causing a choking cough. Sometimes I choke on my own saliva.

Hi yes dysphagia is quite common I’m afraid. It’s makes me self conscious in restaurants and even at home as my partner thinks I’m stuffing too much into my mouth and it’s my fault! As the AI response above states, posture is a good place to start. I started putting a bit more mindfulness into eating. Just taking smaller bites helps, as does putting my fork down in between bites
