My insurance used to cover the 5% Lidocane patches and they worked well. They no longer cover them so I now buy the 4% Lidocane patches at any pharmacy. They are second best, but still offer some relief from the pain.

The low dose patch did not work me, but my pain management doctor prescribed an extended release pain med called XTAMPZA. They have different dosages. I started at 13mg 2x a day and now I am at 18mg 2x a day and it has helped once I figured out when to best take it. You take 1 every 12 hours and for me when I take it at night I make sure to fall asleep within 30 minutes or I'll have a hard falling asleep. Normally I take mine at 11AM & 11PM. I would recommend starting on a lower dosage then decide if you'd like to move up or stay at the same dosage. Good luck, hope this helps.

I receive 2 medications through a specialty pharmacy because they were not covered by my primary pharmacy through some special authorization. My main pharmacy is my local Walgreens but the specialty pharmacy is one located at the Children's hospital of Los Angeles and it is a Specialty Walgreens.
