Members of this community shared heartfelt goals for 2023, with many focusing on managing pain, regaining mobility, and finding joy despite serious health challenges like AS, CLL, and spinal injuries. Several members shared practical strategies including aquatic therapy, yoga, stretching routines, the Autoimmune Protocol diet, acupuncture, and gradual exercise programs to help stay active and reduce flares. A recurring theme was the power of small wins, like taking 20 steps after a year, walking to the mailbox, or finishing a knitting project, alongside leaning on faith, family, and community support to keep going.

Am trying to get myself back in the habit of doing some aquatic therapy this winter. Cartersville GA, which is near me, has a really nice senior aquatic center and the silver sneakers part of my insurance pays the membership. So..no excuses. Just do it!! Wish I had a pool buddy. We could push each other to go .lol
Am afraid if I don`t do this I may not be mobile by spring. And I love the pool and lake. So, got to do it.

I had a good way of controlling my Spondlitus was I mind no bodyelse matters. What that means is what everybody say to u do what u want within reason and don't let it let it beat you.I got told by a doctor I be in a wheelchair in 2year that was when I was 32 now I'm still working at nearly 69 so you can control it yourself it's not what doctor tells you it's your mindset

SherriH74 all the best for your disability claim. My advice is to have your mental health as a cause of disability also. For me, it was 2 herniated discs, one impingeing on my spinal cord that cinched it. I didn't know enough to add in my mental health on the first 2 tries, after a hospitalization for a suicide attempt & severe depression from losing everything to years of trying to work while in such physical & emotional pain. We're groomed by society to feel shame for not being strong enough to power through pain & depression, & most work places don't have many accomodations in place for health issues. Prayers for you throughout this journey.πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’œ
