I'm new on here and I haven't seen anything about balance problems. Is this just me or does anyone else have these problems. I just can't always walk a straight line. When I walk down the hallway in my house I sometimes almost bounce from wall to the opposite wall
I also get sore ribs. I ended up spending a night in the hospital because I couldn't draw in a full breath because I hurt in the middle of my chest (Sternum?) and around my left side ribs and to my back. I have some compression… read more
Hello @A MySpondylitisTeam Member, I have balance problems. When I walk down our hallway I still have to use my cane to help break me from a fall. And if there wasn't a wall I would fall also. Your soar ribs is part of the Spondylosis. It's part of the Ankylosing Spondylitis, These are all from the same family. Except that "AS" will fuse your spine, etc. I have Cervical Spondylosis. and I will never fuse. But I still have all of the pain. Costialcondritis Spelling, is your ribs being also caused from the Spondylitis family. And yes the spondyloarthritis is also in this family. You need to look up these words and you will find that all out. I'm so sorry that you have this. It's a lot of pain. Hugs, Katy Praying for you.
I know what u mean about the ribs hurting... My ribs on the left get knots or 1 big spasm I guess. It seems the worse one gets the less pain management dr. can do. It depends on the Dr nowdays here in TX. I have Spondylilthesis its a bit different although issues are similar.
Wishing all a better day😊
I have had balance problems due to severe scoliosis. I use a cane and a walker.
Oh my! I've had this problem! When you can't get a deep breath in it almost feels like your going to suffocate! I have it once in awhile and it has kept me awake for hours wondering if I'm having a heart problem. My ribs ached too but since I've had the pain pump put in, not much at all. The dizziness and other maladies come and go. Hard to tell if its just Spondylitis or time to call 911!
Reading this about the pain in ribs and sternum is something I've just been experiencing, hurt so much to move my left arm or take a deeper breathe,I couldn't stay at work.5 days later it has eased some.
Hope you find some comfort .I am getting a MRI soon to find out the extent of damage that's already happened.Go from those results to pain management for course of action.
