It can affect your entire body. Inflammatory molecules are carried by your blood through the entire body. It is unfortunate that the conventional medicine community places distinct terminology on autoimmune conditions instead of just labeling the disease as "autoimmune disease" because it leads to much confusion as well as adding a lot of worry to patients as they receive multiple autoimmune diagnoses over time. What is more important, indeed MOST important, is to identify what is causing the body to overproduce the inflammatory chemicals that are attacking. Address the causes, cure the disease. Lastly, keep in mind that even when the disease process is stopped, damage done by the disease needs to be addressed. Best of luck.
