@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Not long ago i was listening/watching a medical interview, or maybe i read it somewhere about the spike protein on the covid molecule having the ability to bind to or trigger "dormant" pathigens hiding out in the body. A common pathogen to AS is klebsiella pneumoniae. I posted about that recently, you can findvthe post along with an AI screenshot about it under the timeline tab on my wall. It was about a month ago i placed the post. Anyway, supposedly, according to the interview when the dormant bug is activated it causes a cytokine release to attack not just covid, but the harder to kill off bacteria lingering in the body. Other common lingering bacteria, typically in the gut, that are known autoimmune causing triggers are Streptococcus which commonly triggers Psoriatic disease and Eppstein Barr which triggers MS. So, from what i surmise is that it is not so much AS that is latent, but more likely a bacteria pathogen that is latent and AS is a SYMPTOM resulting from the original disease.
All autoimmune conditions are the result of the body responding to ongoing trigger(s). The key to resolution is discovering the trigger(s) and resolving those. A very helpful test to do this is a gut microbiome mapping test. This is not a test typically ordered by a conventional medicine dr. Your insurance company might not cover it either. But it is worth every penny out of pocket if you can manage it. I posted about it as well about a month ago. Feel free to ask for more details about it if you want. For me, it revealed not only klebsiella pneumoniae but also streptococcus lurking "silent" in my gut. It also revealed an imbalance of microbiota that gets in the way of full nutrition absorption from my diet and supplements. Gut microbiota imbalance will prevent some meds from full absorption as well so it's pretty important to get that right. Number one cause of imbalance in the gut is antibiotics. Not being able to absorb nutrients will absolutely cause a whole host of unpleasant symptoms all associated with autoimmune conditions. There is a non medicated way to fix the gut balance and get the pathogens hiding out in there out. Yours in better health P ππ
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Sure thing. Heres the recipe:
In a blender i add the following which are estimates for quantities. I just eyeball it for amounts +/-
- 2 oz pure coconut water (unsweetened unflavored)
- 2 oz 100% pure pomegranate juice unsweetened
- 1/3-1/2 grated lime peel or approx 3 Tbsp pure lime juice
- 1 Tbsp grated ginger
- 1 Tsp spirulina powder
- 1/4 tsp chlorella powder
-1/4 -1/3 cup grated carrots
- 6 cucumber slices, thick
- 6 pineapple chunks
- 1/4 cup strawberries
-1/4 cup blueberries
- 1/4 cup mixed red and black berries
- 1/2 to 1 Tbsp bkack pepper
- 1 dropper (approx 30 ml) dandelion tincture
- 1 dropper cilantro
Sometimes i use other plant concentrate tinctures such as cat's claw, elderberry, etc.
Protein powders - 1 scoop each (my scoops are 3 Tbsp and this is between 10 and 15 grams protein each scoop) plant protein, bovine, marine, and poultry. We need a minimum of half our body weight in grams protein per day just to function. To heal broken diseased bodies we need to add an extra 20 to that. I target 75-80 grams daily. I weigh about 115 pounds.
Yes, an entire half shelf of my refrigerator is protein powdersπ and the other half has the algae and other plant powders and concentrated tinctures.
I also toss in the supplements that i take in liquid form.
It's amazing how much better i feel when i drink this at least every other day. I drink it about 5 days a week. If i miss 2 days i definitely notice a difference. Our bodies in autoimmune conditions have been way overstressed for a very long time by the time we get to the point of diagnosis. The only way to come back to remotely close to pre-disease noticed state is to feed our mitochondria in every part of our bodies the best possible nutrition we can put together. Medicated or not this is essential to ever having a chance of feeling better. Yours in better health P π π
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. I forgot to mention. I have heard several doctors talk about nutritional testing. They all say that the test is fairly useless. One i listened to earlier today put it like this, if a company tracks its employees cars and sees that all cars are on the highway going to work, it doesnt mean that they will arrive at the office and do their job. A blood test just reveals if the nutrients are in the blood at a given point in time. But the blood is just the highway. Its not where the nutrients need to get to, inside the cells. Whether or not the nutrition you eat is taken up by your cells is another matter all together. Probiotics digesting the nutrition is helpful for most of that, but im not a dr and cant explain it (yetπ) much better than this. Im still learning about it. I know i feel much better, more calm focused energy and stronger when i drink my 15 plant and 4 protein sourced smoothie. I think the smaller condensed form of liquified plants and micro particles of protein are probably better absorbed than the typical sized nutrition from the plate. Just a thought, not certain about that. It certainly doesn't hurt to get the most quantity and best sourced and widest variety of whole nutrition as possible. When i first started thinking this way i was exhausted, wiped right out for the rest of the day just taking a shower. It was ridiculous. I surmised, what does a broken sick body need to get well? High protein and nutrition. Mom used to make chicken soup and orange juice to get over a bug. This mess needs that and a whole lot more. Forever. Time for a change. I ditched ALL ultraprocessed foods and junk drinks. Nothing but the best nutrition i can get. My Chron's and psoriasis are gone. My fatigue gone. Brain fog gone. What im dealing with now is just a whole mess of payin for the playin. I haven't tested positive for ANA, CRP, or ESR in 3 years. As far as im concerned the autoimmune conditions are in my past. Now im just mopping up the mess. And what a mess it is. π₯΄
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Probably, regarding the Pre/Probiotic. However, it's best to get a gut mapping test first to know which ones will actually be beneficial to you specifically. PREbiotics are actually better than Probiotics, i have recently been learning. Probiotics are useless if they dont have PREbiotics to feed them. Without food the probiotic bacteria will starve, die off, and pass through without doing anything. My own recent gut mapping test revealed that my gut is essentially devoid of PREbiotics. The good news is that those are easier to come by through whole foods such as oats, walnuts, bananas and artichokes among others. Also, a gut mapping test will reveal if there are any lurking bacteria in there. Some specific probiotics have been clinically tested and proven to kill pathogens like strep and klebsiella. I looked up which ones do this, then found a probiotic with prebiotics included supplement that has those probiotic species from Garden of Life. Not all probiotics are the same. Look for ones that have a series of numbers and/or letters following the species name. Those have been scientifically tested and proven to do what they claim to do. I heard the topic discussed earlier today in an interview and it was explained like this, all dogs are dogs, but clearly not at all the same in what they are bred for. Yours in better health P ππ
While research is ongoing into triggers for spondylitis, we know that certain infections can potentially trigger inflammatory responses that may develop into spondylitis in genetically susceptible individuals. This is particularly true for those who carry the HLA-B27 gene.
