Members enthusiastically shared their positive experiences with aqua therapy for managing pain and arthritis symptoms, with many praising warm water therapy at the YMCA for its ability to ease joint pain and provide a sense of freedom and relief. Several members highlighted practical tools and settings that helped them, including warm pool classes, saunas, home hot tubs, and even floating in warm saltwater at the beach, though some noted barriers like cost, insurance coverage, and pool closures. A recurring theme was that while aqua therapy works differently for everyone, the combination of heat, buoyancy, and gentle movement offers significant physical and emotional comfort for many living with chronic pain.

Absolutely! The heat & stretching (aqua PT) help immensely!! Use the YMCA's sauna as well.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member,
I've had years worth and recommend it. Locally, I had to stop when the pool had to be closed repeatedly for cleaning. The YMCA has a high standard for cleanliness. The toddlers swimming in the pool didn't understand. 😜

I luckily live in Florida and only 40 minutes from the beach. Floating in warm saltwater is so healing
