I have not had this experience yet. I’m giving Enbrel 3 more months to work then 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have read that going off will send you into a bad flare up.

There are financial programs to assist with the high cost of these biologics. Just Google “name of drug + financial assistance”. My copay for Enbrel was $2200 a month and the financial aid program knocked it down to $0. Hope this helps. 🤗

Until a few months ago, I was on biologicals since 2007. For a variety of reasons including the risk factors and side effects, I am considering to just forget about biologicals altogether.

After being off almost 3 months I'm doing better than I thought I would be. Not near great, but mostly bearable, and no big flares yet.

I was curious if anyone has experienced quitting biologicals after being on them for years?

I was on Remicade for a long time, and due to switching jobs (Cobra) and insurance company going cheap they switched me to Inflectra. So I went without for like 2 to 3 months and it was an absolute hell for me since I desperately needed it for multiple chronic health conditions (Ulcerative Colitis with associative arthritis, AS, etc……) and the doctor’s office was slow and negligent about fixing things. I had to suffer greatly with no aid. When I got on to Inflectra things got better, but my body has been back and forth with the cheap a$$ biosimilar. This past one I had a backlash which lasted 3-4 days. If my body ends up rejecting it, then I have to get on the Humeira shot. All because of the damn insurance, and I get the insane costs. I always plan for and have to pay the max high deductible which is thousands, but when I hit my cap it gets better. Honestly, I would have given up on life if I had not received biologics. There are pill alternatives, but they are not as good.
