I have had AS since I was sixteen in 1976. I took anti-inflammatory drugs for years. I stopped taking medication over 15 years ago when the disease stopped its progression. I have limited mobility in my hips and spine but I don't have any pain now.

I'm relatively new to understanding this disease & was only diagnosed in 2021. My understanding is that there is no cure & medication is needed to slow the progress and help ease the symptoms.
