Humira Expectations
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just started humira Wednesday. I am worried about the getting sick part of this, and want to know from people on this medication how often they get sick and if they take extra precautions. Or what to expect form real people not drug ambassador from humira. Thank you

I never got sick from Humira. It worked well after the medication level was reached in my system. My body eventually created an intolerance to this medication and I had to switch. This is fairly common.

I’m taking humira and it works good. I got sick and my son got sick at the same time and I didn’t feel any difference.

I've been on Humira for 2 years, along with methotrexate. At the beginning of treatment, I had many relapses of Psoriatic symptoms that drove me crazy. I am also being treated for anxiety and depression, so a few more meds added (depression booster medication, as well as some OCD meds. Funny but the combination of these drugs help me with pain (Celecoxib), Fluoxetine for anxiety, Bupropion for depression and Trazodone for a booster for depression and OCD. Very rarely, in an extreme anxiety attack I'll take Clonzepam ( one half of 0.5MG).

I just switched from Humira to Enbrel. The Humira helped with the pain but the duration of reduced pain days started to get fewer and fewer. With the Enbrel I do injections weekly not every 2 weeks like Humira and it’s seems to be able to sustain the level of pain reduction for the entire week. ( so far)
