I was on Gabapendin for years. I had to get off of it because it was making me feel mentally numb. Getting off of it was one of the hardest things was in alot of pain for months after but it evened out and now its just normal pains. It really did help with the pain for years wish there was something else I could take. I wish you luck and happiness. have a great day.

Pregablin is very similar to gabapentin, I was unable to take gabapentin as well, it gave me terrible cramp in my muscles and I ended up not being able to walk. It did nothing for my pain and just made matters worse but my husband takes gabapentin and it works well for him. Like most medicines some people find them helpful and others do not, some get no side effects or side effects that are manageable and some people find the side effects so bad that it's not worth taking the medication. Looks like you are like me and this type of medication just doesn't suit you. When I came off this I had trouble sleeping at all for a few days so bear this in mind if you are stopping it.

I took Gabapendin for awhile but I had too many side effects from it so I was switched to Cymbalta and it works wonders for me

Dr. put me on Lyrica for nerve pain. !00 mgs- 2x/day. No longer take ANY Gabapentin! Was taking up to 1200mgs on my worst days, 600mgs on my best. I also take Methotrexate, Enbrel & Wellbutrin, but nerve pain started after I had been taking those.
