Hi all, I have had a lumbar fusion in 2008, gave me a few years, but the disc's above the fusion are now degenerating, Dr. said Degenerative Disc Disease, more surgery, NO thank you.
Could anyone having back issues tell me what works best for you to relief some of the pain
I take 2 Naproxen, 1 Hydrocodone a day and use cream with Lidocaine in it, that wears off after a couple hours. Have a massage chair. Dr. wants me to ride my stationary bike 1/2 hour - 5 times a week, - I would rather… read more
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, I never heard of using Vicksburg vapor rub, I googled it and will buy some
I have a list of back stretches the PT gave me
What is your "potent" back creams? The… read more
Does anyone use the compression belt, like dr.Ho's ? The kind that sits in low back and you inflate it.it supposedly lifts and separates the spine giving relief
Yes I have a compression brace for my lumbar spine, mine has a hard 10 inch by 12 inch plate in it, plastic I'm guessing because it's very lightweight. It also has a set of elastic drawstrings to… read more
They are withholding my Humira script because I had a basil cell cancer spot on my ear removed last May 2023. I started it March 2023. It was biopsied, cut out, and healed perfectly. I've been without and the process looks like they need the derm doc to call them and let them know I don't have cancer. I had a bad rep who told me to get the information from them and call back with it. Then I was told they need the doctor to call. I understand but 2 hours on the phone of misinformation and… read more
Hello,
I really like to walk & hike (nothing too intense) & wanted to try to get in some relatively short (ie not all day!) low-impact hikes (ie not too treacherous terrain) bc I find that much better on my joints than walking on pavement and for me exercising outside is a major bonus! Wondering what people use for stability, though, to help support posture/core. I’m 36 w minimal damage (thankfully!) but significant pain.
Thanks for the hug. A giant one back to ya!!
I concur with @A MySpondylitisTeam Member. In my observation amongst this and a couple of other forums that I've been on, I have yet to meet anyone on meds that don't have to change their meds or who… read more
HI my AS warriors! I was just wondering if any of my friends here have lost your height...? I have been 6'2" since the 8th grade & always had good posture!! Now...? I am barely 4'9" tall...!!! My neck is fused & it is so very painful. I cn't see where I am going when walking, which can be very interesting ~LOL! I do my best & count each day as a blessing!! Somedays are easier than others, but ... they all suck lately. I hope y'all have a great night!!!🤔
Hi, I have lost an inch over this past year. I am not exactly tall but I do worry about these types of symptoms.
My husband is 69. The doctor recommended he get on Humaira. His blood work showed no inflammation. Is this normal in some with AS? It appears that Humaira is for inflammation. What alternatives are some of you on?
I use horse linamint mint sent. It works amazingly for the aches and pains and also leg cramps and you smell minty fresh lol
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, you are much welcome. I am glad to hear you are feeling much better since the swelling in your toes is almost gone, good news! Darn, sometimes those coughs, just ang… read more
I am curious how everyone finds ways on a daily basis to cope with their challenges. Everyone has unique circumstances and experience this condition in unique ways. I am interested in learning the unique ways everyone has for coping. My biggest change for how I cope is a gratitude practice and part of that is connecting on this platform with others who can relate. I know how bad this disease can get and I am grateful everyday that I am nowhere near experiencing the worst of it. I accept where I… read more
