Hi Demont,
I was very tired all the time!!! I found since upping my vitamin D to 10,000 UI and 200 mg of K2 really helped. I don't take it everyday because it is a large dose, but that tired feeling I don't have anymore. It's been like this for 2 months. I recommend you speak to your doctor first before taking it. My doctor checks on my D all the time. It's helped me. Hope it helps you.
@DeemontSeegars. Hi Deemont, energy depletion comes from numerous causes when it comes to autoimmune conditions. Aside from the body wide inflammation that also occurs in the brain (brain fog and excessive fatigue are symptoms of neuro inflammation), the body demands more energy to combat that toxic load causing your autoimmune condition in the first place. Just as the old saying, "feed a cold" goes, so too do we need to feed autoimmune disease. However, WHAT you feed it with for healing is extremely important. You need a minimum of 100 grams protein per day just to keep your heart beating, lungs breathing, heal damaged bodily tissues and organs that are full of toxins, and then have any shred of energy left over to actually get up and do the essential physical activities needed to actually heal and prevent further destruction. Protein is just the first step. Make certain that it is lean protein source free from gluten, processed dairy and any other food sensitivities you may have. Remember, how you get that protein matters a lot. A lean cut of beef, not a bacon double cheeseburger.
Equally as important as quality and quantity of protein is hydration, especially in hot water. Half your body weight in clean filtered water is vital to life. Install a reverse osmosis water filter in your kitchen sink to keep chemicals out. Typical fridge filters do not filter heavy metals. Drink your water from glass or stainless steel containers as much as possible to cut down on microplastics leaching into your water. When you must drink from a plastic water bottle, try not to drink from one that has been sitting in a hot car or outside. Heat degrades plastic.
The next most basic requirement for energy is a regular circadian rhythm cycle. Try to go to bed before 10pm and get up after 7-9 hours every day. This allows the body to adjust to a regular healing and repairing cycle. It helps put the body into a parasympathetic state of rest and digest instead of a sympathetic (inflammation source) state of constant vigilance not knowing what and when to expect the need for action and feeling like it needs to rest but not preparing when to expect to rest.
These may seem very basic. However, you would be surprised how many autoimmune diseases are triggered just from lacking these basics, and it is a very common inflammatory source for most developed societies. No medication or stimulant can replace basic biological needs. I have a very long list of suggestions for improving energy levels from firsthand experience. When I was too weak and drained to do more than go from bed to couch day after day, when I could focus, I researched how to do it then began implementing everything that I learned. Space constraints won't allow me to put everything here. If you have not been doing the above 3, start, do it daily for a month. Then get back to me for the next steps. Basics first.
Feeling exhausted with spondylitis is incredibly common — over 85% of people with the condition experience fatigue. You are definitely not alone in this! The good news is there are several things that may help.
