Your link to YouTube how to perform with excellent explanation, and here's a photo of my Google query how to perform this technique printed out. Remember, nothing good happens under stress. Clear your mind daily, as often as needed to move forward on learning how to fix the rest of your body. You CAN do this Jan. I am uour friend across the pond who cares enough to help you get there. In future posts we will address face yoga for your facial/mouth pain, arm and neck physical therapy to get on top of that elbow pain and foot therapy for that plantar fasciitis. All this can be addressed at home for free. One step at a time my friend. Slow and steady, we will get you across the finish line. Keep the faith...yours in better health P ๐Ÿ˜Œ ๐Ÿ™

As for me, today I drive down what I call "death trap highway" to the next town over to consult yet another Orthopedic Surgeon's assistant about a bone marrow tumor in my femur. Never give up the fight!๐Ÿค›๐Ÿซถ

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Did they not give you dentures after takingyour teeth Jan? Im so sorry you're having such challenges. It's a lot when the entire body is affected, as is the case with gut disbiosis which almost always leads to some form, often multiple forms, of autoimmune disease. See the post I placed today from Dr Jockers. Maybe you can get some insight for a better way to proceed despite the lack of thorough guidance from the regular health system there. It will require multiple approaches over a long period, quite likely the rest of your life, to turn it all around. My lifestyle and diet is nothing like it used to be. And I have zero desire to go back to what all landed me here. As for my current dilemma, breast mastitis. Who the hell knows how I got it and I pray that's all it is. The next mammogram will tell. Yes, Jan, feels like hard labor with an infant that has a head too large for a tiny framed woman to push out. At least thats what it has felt like for me, having personally experienced the metaphor. The first couple of times I experienced an SI joint flare I couldn't hardly move for a week each time. I lay with a heated throw blanket wrapped around my entire mid section and woe to the person who so much as breathed in my direction.๐Ÿ˜ฌ It felt like a kidney stone, in both kidneys. The pain radiates to my front in the pelvic area and down into both hips. Excruciating. Now I know what that is when I feel it tightening in my back and I get relief by floating in my jetted tub for an hour with about 6 pounds of magnesium salts that have potassium and arnica mixed in. Topical Frankincense (boswellia) cream after the soak is helpful followed by heating pad. I managed to clear out the sclerosis i once had the entire length of both SI joints by performing physical therapy, prescribed stretches, and that clean anti inflammatory diet. Clearing the sclerosis took about 5 years, at least that's how long it was between the MRIs that included the SI joints. I too was once ravaged throughout my body as you seem to be experiencing judged by all your posts. Im so sorry you are going through that. All the posts I send you for the free YouTube sites that have the different functional medicine based drs are your best sources for how you can overcome this mess too Jan. I know it's a lot, it often feels like a full time job with overtime to me. The pay comes in the form of a healthier body. It requires patient consistency and I definitely understand and relate well to the frustrations. Yesterday I felt like my old self before my state of utter collapse over 6 years ago. A long time coming to say the least. It was so wonderful to be able to work in my yard for hours once again on a beautiful day. I slept so well last night. I posted yesterday that I did not know what today would bring but I will forever be greatful to have experienced a mostly pain-free active day without meds once again. A miracle worth living for. Today im wiped out from what appears to be a developing breast mastitis infection that I will likely need to make an appt for on Monday and get on antibiotics. So much for my stellar microbiome that will get wiped out. ๐Ÿ˜‘Maybe not. We'll see how I do with my high nutrition smoothie and rest. Always something, but that one day, yesterday, proved to me that it can happen and will again by addressing all the causes and getting on the better path to true good health naturally. This too shall pass. For both of us. Yours in better health P ๐Ÿ˜Œ ๐Ÿ™

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. I am so sorry Jan that you are so severely affected and have no one with real skill to turn to for help over there in a timely manner. That is horrible. Alas, however I see it as the normal course of things everywhere in the developed world. It is like a beautiful stew on the stove simmering slowly, then one more ingredient is added that causes it to boil over spilling a sticky stinky mess over the stove top and down to the floor. We start out young, energetic and happy, the picture of health. No one tells us that the things we are doing, eating, exposing ourselves to unwittingly are all going to boil out of the pot. It happens and then we're standing there without a towel to clean it up. The towel being the knowledge and resources needed. Heavy sigh. Hmmm, what to do for you my dear...let's see...

First, let's try to find a way to calm your mind enough to tackle this mess. I know, it's really tough because you feel miserable and have an awful NHS, your only resource. It appears the only reliable resource you have to help you is yourself. OK, so be it. Let's begin with that then. Calm and clear your mind with deep breathing exercises 3 times a day for the next 3 days. Don't make phone calls that are likely to land you on a brick wall. Just focus on your breath. Eat what you can, do what you can, but make those 3 breathing sessions a priority because frustration just leads to more pain, more anger, more disease activity. Think of those 3 times a day breathing exercises like emergency triage. You are at the first stage of self help for self health. Without it, nothing else can be accomplished. Try this emergency breathing technique that i use frequently and find immediately calming and helpful so that i can problem solve affectively.,..

Breathe in through nose 4 seconds followed by an additional fast in breath also through the nose. It's literally a two breaths in. Mouth closed, breathe in 1,2,3,4 with fast in-breath again on 5. Then breathe out through open lips for a count of 6 or more. Do this 10 times and notice how you feel at the end.

First thing in morning, after lunch, at bedtime. 3 days. That is step 1. Remind me this weekend to tell you step 2, if you like. I will see if I can find a You Tube link with a demonstration how to do this breathing technique.

Hang in there Jan. I know it feels overwhelming, but truly you CAN get a handle on all the awful things you've been experiencing. Other than the teeth, I've experienced them all too and now I don't. If I can get a handle on it, anyone can. Yours in better health P ๐Ÿ˜Œ ๐Ÿ™

Hi @A MySpondylitisTeam Member
Yes I have three pairs I am back and forth to the dentist he is fed up I am fed up he said I have a small mouth!
I canโ€™t help I have that, the dentures are made for average size mouths.
He said my mouth has changed since he made them, also they are rough not smooth they catch my cheek and one of them caused it to bleed, I use salt water/ I have gels/ GingerGel/ etc antibacterial mouth wash tried different things nothing helps and my face has changed a lot not wearing the dentures as I should, I have three ulcers now and blisters and sore spots itโ€™s difficult to wear them, each one causes the ulcers, they look like horses teeth horrible/ its on the NHS itโ€™s how they make them, the dental hospital for an appointment is months and months away.
I think I am in a flare, still not sure about flares donโ€™t understand them properly.
tinnitus flaring but had for weeks / mouth on top, my foot underneath has started tingling it started through the night, think itโ€™s PF,the SI joint is just as bad when it started on Saturday and when I go for a wee through the night it wakes me up more pain laying in bed, and in day time,I am trying to move around but everything just stressing me out big time, I am irritated on top.
I bought dental wax to try soften the area on the denture but I get wax in my mouth as it comes off easily itโ€™s more for people with braces.
The article you sent me is one of the best I have read, thank you so very much,I find more information from you than I ever have here in the uk and the information is so much easier to understand with pictures explaining everything ๐Ÿ™.

For me I know the Covid vaccine triggered the AS the rheumatologist said I had it years ago and a possibility that it did but it started very quickly, she said on the x ray it showed old AS well I wasnโ€™t shown the x ray I did ask but they said I couldnโ€™t see it was only for them.
Before then I was active.
This morning after waiting so long I got a phone call from a rheumatologist nurse at long last he said an appointment at the hospital the earliest is the 27th April basically no appointment next week and doctors strike week after๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก.
I really hope when you have the next mammogram you know and I am praying with you that itโ€™s ok.
Please take care of yourself sending big hugs and prayers.
