I did a little walk in the garden so I have done just over 2,000 steps that’s my average but now it’s again so painful and it was a sneeze for goodness sake!!! How do people cope with sneezing yes I know it’s crazy.

Hi Jan, I know I've already droned on about functional medicine practitioners. I think you may find this one, Dr Micah Yu the most helpful. If you can't get help locally, Dr Yu has a very affordable $30US per month membership program where he or his partner will consult with you via zoom calls. Good luck. Oh yeah, the chest pain from sneeze...likely costochondroitis with possible micro tear from the forcefulness of the sneeze. If you're one who tries to stifle a sneeze, next time let it happen with audible "choo" sound to keep from containing the force in your chest. That cannot be done anyway. Costochondroitis, heal that by 3 times a day 10 repetitions of deep diaphragmatic breathing. Look up how to do that on You Tube, Dr Yoni Whitten has good demonstration. I had Costochondroitis so bad that I all but completely lost my voice for a couple of years because i could not expand my chest cavity enough for audible communication. It took about a year of doing the breathing exercises daily before I began to notice improvement. Stay the course Jan. Don't give up. You are moving down the right path. It's just a really long path to walk. Try to increase your daily steps by 10 per day. Stay the course and I will be there at the end of that road cheering you on all the way. I promise you that if I could get there, you can too. Ever forward my friend.😌🙏P
How do you cope with the sudden, sharp pain from something as simple as a sneeze?
It's not crazy at all - sudden movements like sneezing can trigger intense pain with spondylitis. The jarring motion can affect your spine and ribs, which are already dealing with inflammation.
Here are some strategies that may help:
Hey Jan, Its not crazy. I know that feeling, I've sneezed so hard before, it felt like my back was going to "slide" off my hips. Its a brutal feeling for just a sneeze. I hope you are getting better and good job with the steps and getting outside. Best of wishes, and spring is getting closer, tired of cold and wet.
Hi Rob/ Brian it’s ridiculous just like Been spiced, yes Brian I thought I was going to pass out, I feel sacred now to sneeze but you have to obviously
it’s painful and nothing is helping it yes i am trying to walk but not sleeping and this is really making it worse, my neck is also painful but not sure if it is connected with the sneeze and the lower back the same, I am walking slowly to the house but it’s difficult I just want to lay down.
Yes spring is but I go day by day.
How are you both feeling?
Thank you hugs 🤗
Hi Pitac thank you for the link awww but you’re always helpful and i value your support and help.
That is reasonable thank you.
Yes the pain was something I never experienced like that really nervous now to sneeze but you have to.
I am finding it more of a struggle since last September in the summer I had some flares but managed lots of steps maybe too much but after September and the weather changed to winter it’s extremely challenging.
I understand about costochondritis I think I have it a lot and my oxygen levels never seem to be 100 usually 93/ to 94 that’s my average plus hardly sleeping not helping.
Yikes you lost your voice OMG 😦
I will look at how to to do the deep breathing thank you.
The path is a nightmare to walk down and so many twists and turns and so very long bless you I always try my best
Thank you for the positive energy 🫶.🙏
Hi Lola
How did it happen to you? I seem to have sneezes once a day but nothing like yesterday that was evil.
Yes good tips:) 🙏
No I didn’t know it just happened scary.
Yes this is lingering also pain in my neck I really need a good pillow as mine is so old it’s comfortable but not for my neck.
It was a little walk but i feel every thing is tight now but I have a heatpad but have to sit and don’t want to sit right now.
Thank you I am trying but it’s so difficult ♥️.
