I’ve been dealing with really bad fatigue the last few weeks. I’ve got AS which I take enbrel for, depression and anxiety that I’m medicated and in therapy for, and have twin toddlers. My husband is a SAHD and I work 48 hrs/week at a job that isn’t really all that physically taxing. We did have a couple of busy weeks, though, which I’m sure is adding to the fatigue. Plus, I’m on a GLP-1 that makes it difficult to eat.

I just haven’t been able to shake this at all, no matter how much sleep, how… read more

Some people with spondylitis may need more of these supplements but for a accurate answer it's going to depend on your blood work and what your doctor tells you. If you're taking high doses of vitamin d and omega-3s I would do some serious research into what the side effects are if you are taking too much. Another thing that you have to look out for is making sure you get enough calcium. People with ankylosing spondylitis tend to run low on that sometimes, but again how much is going to depend on what your blood work shows and what your doctor recommends. Just make sure you're getting at least the daily recommended amounts. Also, probiotics are very important, and if you're taking probiotics they will of course help increase the amount of supplements your body absorbs.

Brent is on the right track for sure. However, it is physiological as well as psychological stressors that affect energy levels. Deep dive testing can reveal toxins that are typical culprits. These toxins can be heavy metals, "dormant" diseases like klebsiella pneumoniae and streptococcus, parasites like Lyme (most tests for this one are inadequate, but a good accurate one does exist), mold toxicity and other sensitivities, and inadequate nutrient absorption. Much deeper than a couple of supplements, which are good, but wont help if you cant absorb them or there is a toxic load. Lastly, and definitely not least is past trauma buried deep in the psyche coming out through the body. Very common. It can even be trauma as a baby not remebered. A Functional Medicine practitioner can help guide you in all of this. Yours in better health P 😌🙏

The research I've done seems to point to inflammation and sleep disturbances as the biggest contributors to ankylosing spondylitis fatigue. Are you dealing with a lot of inflammation currently? You want to check with the doctor to make sure you're not taking any medications that would react with certain supplements, but the main things they recommend to help with inflammation for ankylosing spondylitis is curcuminoids, which you can find in turmeric but you can also get 95% curcuminoid extract which is more effective. Ginger, omega-3, vitamin d are the other top recommendations for spondylitis. They can make quite a difference.

My god yes. Just having twins is a full time job and exhausting in itself. Let alone full time job. As Pitac said you need protein just to get through the day. Pace yourself and try to rest as much as possible. Good luck.

Twin toddlers, full time job, that alone is enough to exhaust anyone even not chronically ill. Food is fuel as long as it is the right type of food. And you need loads of fuel. 90 grams protein per day. If you can't eat (I cant eat a lot either), use protein powders. Put a 3 Tbsp. scoop in coffee. Thats 20 grams right there, assuming its a high quality powder. 2 cups of coffee with a 3Tbsp scoop in each will start your day with good fuel. Wide variety of fresh or frozen produce, 20 different types per day, spices and tinctures from the health food store count. As does no additives or sugars fruit/veggie juice as long as it is 100% juice only. Make a smoothie with all the produce and add 6-8 Tbsp of different types protein peptide powder to it. Theres another 40 or more grams. Sip on it over 3 hours. That'll get you the fuel you need for a busy demanding life. Finish up with a healthy dinner for the whole family. Bon appetit 😌🙏
