It's possible that you're allergic/sensitive to sulfa meds. Many people are. Better than meds is to find out the triggers/causes for your inflammation. It is possible that you have an underlying disease, hiding out in your gut or another organ in your body, unsymptomatic, but driving your inflammation, Taking a DMARD in this incidence lowers your body's natural inflammation response to try to get rid of the disease. This can make the disease process spread in your body causing worse symptoms. This is typical in the US where underlying disease is not tested for prior to prescription for nsaids, dmards, steroids and biologics. For example, through a gut mapping test that i ordered on my own from a lab that offers more in-depth tests than our commonly used medical labs in the US, klebsiella pneumoniae and streptococcus were found in high numbers. No Biologic, dmard, nsaid, or steroid will help cure those and will even make the disease explode symptomatically. Another member here found Lyme as his culprit, manother found parasites. Uncover the root cause, eradicate it, then consider meds if you cant improve symptoms through healthy nutrition and lifestyle. A good indication that you have a "dormant" disease is if your symptoms surfaced after having covid or, according to some, the covid vaccine. Covid's spike protein are thought to activate dormant disease mechanisms. Klebsiella is often found in AS patients. Psoriatic Arthritis has Streptococcus as a common catalyst. Yours in better health P 😌🙏

It's important to be patient during this initial period. If you're experiencing increased pain, you should discuss this with your doctor. They may need to adjust your dosage or consider adding other treatments to help manage your symptoms while waiting for the medication to take full effect.
