I was taking magnesium glycinate for a bit, then switched to mag threonate for better brain infiltration because i learned that i have "multiple diffuse spots throughout both hemispheres of my brain". Trying to heal the old noodle before it unravels. 🤪🤯All forms of magnesium are great, different ones help different parts of the body more so than others. I concur with Tabitha. I take those top 4 she mentioned too and they do make a noticeable improvement in overall pain. Instead of beef organ, i started beef based hydrolyzed collagen protein powders to improve my daily protein intake for better energy. I try to get about 80 grams protein per day and since i started that the fatigue that comes with this mess has not returned. Its been about 4 or more years now. If you take meds or have high AST or ALT reading in blood labs, precursor to if not full fatty liver disease, consider an Omega-3 with fucoxanthin added to it. This comes from brown seaweed and is an awesome liver detox as well as anti-inflammatory according to literature i read at National Institute of Health. My liver health returned completely after i started taking this. High quality is indeed paramount. I get many of my supplements from Garden of Life. My Omega-3 comes from them.
It was suggested I take the following from functional medicine. Supplements can be expensive and you want to take good supplements.
Vitamin D w/ K2
Omegas 3s
Methylated B Complex
Turmeric with black pepper
Boswelia (for pain)
Magnesium Glycinate
I also take a beef organ supplement for iron since my iron saturation is mildly low.
Top 4 have really made a difference. Magnesium Glycenate can help the muscles and helps you get a restful sleep.
@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Yeah, really tough for me to consume enough food for energy and body tissue repair needs. I use a rotation of different types of proteins to get more of a well rounded "meals balance" of essential amino acids found in a variety of sources. I put one full scoop (3Tbsp) in each of 2 morning cups coffee. That's 30-40 grams right there. Then i put 2 more scoops in my lunch smoothie. Half your pounds of bodyweight in grams of protein.
For hot days, ensure 70oz water, thats almost 3 full 24oz tall dtainless steel cups (no pkastics). To each of those add a couple oz if pure coconut water, a couple Tbsp of pure lemon juice and a swuirt of vanilla stevia for an ultra hydrating refreshing summer cooler. Replaces electrolytes to keep energy level up in the heat, as well as all year round. Other than coffee in the morning, this "water coctail" is the only thing i drink anymore. Big positive difference, especially skin health. 😌🙏
So happy to read your suggestions! Have felt flu-like for past couple of days and not known why. Lots of fatigue. But really good before. Was exposed to lots of sun and heat over the 4th and think that may have brought this on.
Have been wondering about protein and magnesium. So happy to hear about the two magnesiums you suggested as there are so many to choose from! Also, I know I don't get as much protein as I should and have been slightly anemic, which is not unusual for me. Going to push my protein intake too.
So nice to hear from people with the same struggles! 😊
🙏
As don’t think they do this in uk.
