Members shared practical strategies for finding a therapist who specializes in chronic pain and ankylosing spondylitis, with advice to call ahead and ask receptionists directly about experience with specific conditions, check provider websites for listed expertise, and seek recommendations from others in the local community. The conversation evolved into a detailed exchange about managing Achilles tendon pain and related AS symptoms, with several members describing helpful approaches including specific stretching exercises, red light therapy, supportive footwear with orthotics, and the use of heat pads for pain relief. A recurring theme was the importance of advocating for yourself by avoiding overly aggressive treatments that could worsen connective tissue damage, finding gentle management strategies that work for your individual body, and making dietary adjustments to support healing and reduce inflammation.

Hi Pitac, are you able to walk any distance or on uneven surfaces? These two things kill my Achilles tendons and run up my leg.....

They wanted me to go to therapy, I am going to continue what I am doing and get the device you told me about. They wanted to "scrape" the inflammation from my Achilles tendon. No thanks, my body would just work to replace it....
