@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Yes to first question. To second question, when it is from -itis, disease origin arthritises, it is from disease inflammation. When it is from -osis, it is from injury wear and tear. I have both. -osis is easier to treat because wear and tear injuries can usually be a one and done treatment as long as the activity that caused it, such as sport or other repetitive use is stopped. -itis is harder to treat and rarely a one treatment and done deal because it is hard to pinpoint what causes the autoimmune system to attack the area of concern and, therefore, ongoing. For example, the stem cell treatments i get will likely need to be done every couple of years because although most of mine were first injuries from activity, i also have Psoriatic Spondylitis which causes continued assault even while lying in bed. This is likely the case for most people over 40 with autoimmune disease. Almost everyone over 40 has neck, low back and other wear and tear/injury osteoarthritis. But those of us with AS, PsA, RA, lupus, etc autoimmune disease have a double whammy. Thats why it is important to try to identify your autoimmune disease triggers and avoid them as much as possible. 😌🙏
