Members connected over shared experiences with thyroid issues, with several describing years of monitoring before finally being referred to endocrinologists for more thorough testing and clearer answers. Many members are managing hypothyroidism with levothyroxine, though one noted that while the medication improved their lab numbers, it did not fully relieve their symptoms. A recurring theme was the discovery of thyroid nodules and the uncertainty that comes with waiting to see what treatment or next steps might be needed.

I’m trying to figure out if this is due to AS or just a “side effect?”

A few months ago after leaving the kidney Dr. I was reading my paperwork and read I have hyperparathyroidism. Clueless so I asked the Dr. I also show calcifications in my thyroid. Recently showed on CT scan. Don't understand any of it.

I'm on meds for mine..had surgery a few years ago..they had to remove a nodule but thank God it was benign.

I know the frustration. I’ve watched my thyroid for years. Finally sent me to an endocrinologist who did more rigorous testing.
