Hi Dennis, as an "old schooler" and now modern era medicinal connoisseur, let me stress to you about the edibles mentioned....DO NOT CONSUME MORE THAN 5 MG (half a typical 10mg gummy) IN LESS THAN 3 HOURS the first time. This is definitely not the cannabis of the 80s and earlier. Many first timers get into serious medical issues, extreme illness, even hospitalized, by going overboard with edibles. Typically, it takes 2 hours to begin to feel anything, another hour or two to feel its fullest effect, and a couple more hours before wearing off. Many new cannaseurs think they didn't take enough and keep eating. Then the 2 hour witching period begins and it's traumatic, even deadly,, but rarely. Trying for the first time, stay home, preferably with a family member or good friend, and be prepared to do nothing all day. This is just until you get to know how it will make you feel. Keeping that last statement in mind, no two people nor no two edibles are the same. There are thousands of strains and blends and everyone's metabolism and biochemistry reactivity is different. It is as experimental as biologics, although a decidedly more pleasurable affect most of the time.
I could write a textbook on the subject. It can take the pain away for some, but for most it takes the edge off like an otc nsaid and gives a mental affect like a glass of wine or a 6 pack of beer, makes you not mind the pain as much. One strain will knock you out cold, another will make you want to clean the whole house all day. One strain may make your pain a lot worse, I get that with most indicas, another type will make you want to bang your mate til dawn. They're all different. I found it very helpful to keep a spreadsheet with notes on each one as I tried them so I'd remember what they did to/for me.
Lastly, my favorite S/I and hip pain relief is a good topical 1:1 CBD:THC 200+mg non transdermal pain relief cream. If you can find a good blend in your state it's a great way to get a few hours relief without the high. Get the high from flower, oil, or edibles. Oh yeah, the cannabis consumer's go-to guide on all things cannabis is Leafly.com. Reach out anytime for more questions.ππ±
Yes, also I find that when I take a cbd edible. I start inventing stuff to do around the house. Most of the time I find an "excuse/reason" why no too, pain or fatigue mostly.
As an experienced user. It helps reduce pain as is an anti-inflammatory. It's one of my favorite pain reliefs.
If you try it, use it in moderation and control. I would recommend taking it in edible form rather inhaling.
Any further questions, ill be happy to help.
