No doctor was monitoring my liver other than standard yearly exam type blood work and the basic test was not showing the advanced disease. My liver enzymes have always been perfect. I asked for a scan and I’m half a point from full blown cirrhosis and headed toward liver cancer. The health system is slow setting me up with specialists. @A MySpondylitisTeam Member. I don’t have high numbers that I know of but they have only tested my ALT and AST. They are perfect. I requested a liver scan and my scarring was very high. 8.5 with less than 5 being normal rang and 9 being cirrhosis in severe danger range. I am thinking about getting into UT Southwest and or UT Chicago if can get in with their latest scientific discoveries in liver scarring reversal. I have genetic issues they need to test for to stop the liver insult. I still haven’t had tests for As and Sjogren’s. Idiots refuse to test here.

Hi, I'm back after series of back to back flares and food related flares of AS that lasted months.
I, too, have had high numbers, mostly liver. My hospital system does not have a nutritionists and referrals are hard to get. Mississippi's health care system is less populated with medical providers than my state of Wisconsin. There are telephone services that I need to spend time finding. In the meantime, I have learned that nutritionists around here have gone independent. They are offering holistic care in my town.
This is a long way to ask, are there any certified holistic providers in your community?

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member and Brian2. Yes I have an eating disorder and do great and then regress. That being said .I had two very diabetic obese aunts that lived past their 80’s being twice my size. My issues are due to lack of medical care, affordable medicines and the thyroid issue. My obese aunts didn’t have thyroid issues and my relatives with the thyroid issues didn’t have diabetes. People I know with both didn’t live long. The person I know of shorter life span was on all the appropriate meds and watched her diet once diagnosed,
