Members responded to a question about burning sensations in feet and legs upon waking with spondyloarthropathy, sharing a range of experiences from tingling and burning to electric shock-like pain that can be severe enough to cause fear of falling. Several members found relief through medications like Cymbalta, duloxetine, and gabapentin for nerve pain, while others preferred topical solutions such as Aspercreme with lidocaine roll-on, compression socks, back braces, and gentle stretching to manage symptoms. A recurring theme was the variability in how members experience and cope with morning pain, with many emphasizing the importance of movement, consulting specialists like rheumatologists or neurologists, and finding individualized treatments that work when some medications cause intolerable side effects.

I did too until this time. It is like electric shocks. I am afraid I will give to the pain and fall. I work full time and this is slowing me down in the mornings.

I have burning down the back of my legs -especially the right one. The pain is horrible and I walk a little the I sit. The pain continues until I can get it stretched . I am using my back brace now. I am looking into getting an appointment with a rheumatologist. This has been ongoing for almost a month.
