Rheumatologist(s) Say I Can’t And Don’t Have AS But X-rays Say -
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

“There are large bridging syndesmophytes off of the superior and inferior endplates at L1 and T12“
Everything I read, scholarly papers included indicate that bridging syndomophytes are the hallmark of AS but 2 rheumies have discounted completely. I feel like I’m crazy.

Hello Jennifer,
It’s common (especially for women) to not be HLA-B27 negative. X-rays and MRIs are important diagnosis tools. Hope you get some answers.

Blood Test!! I was diagnosed aox.6 years ago only because I myself went to a doctor and asked questions. Now I'm on Cimzia shot bi-weekly. But still do Blood test every 6 months.

I am negative for genetic markers, but do have symdomorphytes with fusing in the thoracic area. Rheumatologist Dx me with AS without any issue. Good luck getting the care you need

Ty. I think maybe the next best step for me is to push for an MRI.

Ty! I’m HLA-B27 negative. What other labs lead to AS diagnosis? I have elevated CPR, Sed rate, ANA (speckled) and anemia.
