Members shared their frustration and varied experiences with receiving X-ray results, with most agreeing that unless something alarming is found, doctors often wait until the next scheduled appointment to share findings. Several members recommended being proactive by calling the doctor's office directly within a few days, requesting access to patient portals where available to view results independently, or even visiting the radiology or medical records office in person to obtain copies. A recurring theme was the importance of self-advocacy, with multiple members sharing stories of discovering serious conditions only after obtaining their own records when doctors had dismissed results as normal.

Most drs office calls you with results. One thing u started doing is within a day or 2 after having test such as xray, and MRI I go to the hospital (where all my test are done) and I go to medical records and get a copy of the report. I started doing this BC when I had MRI done on lower back in 2017 Dr told me everything was fine. I went got report and found out I have spinal stenosis. So I started getting my stuff from any Dr who done MRI or xray on back or hip area. Its how I found out all my problems. Its sad that these drs didn't tell me these things. And I had to do all my own research to find out about what each conditions info.
