What Do You Eat When Hurt Too Bad To Cook Or Depressed To Lose Weight Or Not Gain Weight?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question 💭

I gained a lot and struggled so presently ordering 4 quarts of Chinese mostly veggie based stir fry per week and dividing it into 1 cup portions and freezing it in zip lock bags. I eat it 2x a day with 1/4 C. Steamed white rice. I add in prepared small amount of lean meat, an egg, or seafood because after dividing it into portions there isn’t enough meat left in it. Then for evening just have a serving of meat for about 1,400 calories for the day. So I feel satiated and lost weight. I had… read more

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Fucoxanthin is a natural weight loss anti-inflammatory antioxidant. I find it in an Omega-3 supplement from Garden of Life. It's called Beyond OMEGA-3 and has Astaxanthin and Fucoxanthin in it. Fucoxanthin comes from brown seaweed and is responsible for the color. It is naturally thermogenic, does not cause jitters or anxiety like caffeine does. No known side affects according to research. I do notice a brief hot flash about two hours after I take it and I'm generally warmer than I would otherwise be. Great for cold Temps, but not so sure I'll fare well in summer in FL. Its also an anti-diabetic, you'll be able to interpret that topic when you read about it. And its anti-inflammatory, liver and heart protective and a bunch of other health benefits. My pain has significantly dropped since I started it about October last year. But I do a bunch of other stuff for that as well. Definitely worth looking into. Hang in there Doll.😌🙏

I realise this doesn’t fix things now but have you thought about cooking more when you feel Ok and then freeze the surplus that way you have control of the calories and you only need to warm it in the microwave. When ours sons left home we carried on cooking 4 meals and then froze 2 so that the next week we had a day off.

I can't eat solid food any more so I'm existing on lactose/gluten free meal replacements. I'm living on 600-900 calories a day. I've no appetite but I can't lose any weight. I can't exercise due to ME but I do a bit of seated yoga every day until my body tells me it's had enough.

I've heard there's a new weightloss drug coming available on the NHS soon so I'm probably going to hound my GP about it.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Make in advance some meats with sauces or low calorie gravies then mix frozen veggies in with it. Freeze in one cup portions. Don’t cook the frozen veggies with it just mix it with the meat still frozen. Then freeze it. Nuke in microwave with the frozen meat portion and it will be crisp tender. Or if you want more veggie variety freeze meat separate and then microwave some veggies with it when you are thawing the meat portion in microwave, I weigh on a scale 3 to 4 ounce meat portions in a quart zip bag,

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Chinese takeout can be bad. But now I’m adding those steamer bag veggies to it to stretch out the sauce and still limiting my portions. I’m beginning to use the Chinese main dish as a base and throwing in extra meat or veggies but still limiting portions. So if the dish has too much sugar, salt, or fat, it doesn’t by the time I stretch it out.
