@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, re: Bamboo Spine...I had no idea that I had it, except for the pain. My neck and lower back cause the most pain (in the spine, that is). I haven't had normal "Range of Motion" in my neck for years. I can't bend my neck to my shoulders on either side. My neck is definitely fused by AS and with lots of bone spurs. My shoulders are somewhat hunched forward. I also have Spondylolisthesis at L4-L5, so it is hard to tell if the pain and stiffness is related to that or AS. It is really hard to get up from chairs, even after sitting for a few moments. I can only stand for about 5 minutes before the pain kicks- in, in my lower back and my hips.
There was a good article on Bamboo Spine on this site yesterday. That is why I asked the question about other people having it. You sure have had your struggles, Brian. I am sorry and am praying for you.
I am unable to type much today as my right hand and wrist are extremely painful. Wearing a brace. I will pick up on this subject later today.Hugs and Blessings to you, @A MySpondylitisTeam Member
My spine was like an Oak, now it's like a Weeping Willow

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member, Something that I didn't mention in my previous post about Bamboo Spine: When I get up from a chair, I am unable to straighten up. I walk bent over, almost double until I limber up. I used to say to my grandchildren when they were little" "Walk like this". They would copy me. It was always laughable moment! Hope you have a GOOD DAY!
