How Would You Describe Your Flare?
A MySpondylitisTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

When I am in a flare I feel feverish, sick and pain goes to another level.
I often say it feels like all my muscles, mainly spinal and shoulders and neck feel like they spasm.
My nerves feel like they are firing for no reason. Like frayed wires. The pain is agonizing and overwhelming.
The fatigue is overwhelming and everything annoys me. My husband, my son and even my furry critters! πŸ˜”

When I have a flare I feel fatigued, no energy and people just annoy me. I lay in my bed in the dark with door closed and blinds closed too. And I tell my family to go away.

I think my neck pain is the worst out of everything...? It makes me wanna cry! I have to try & keep busy, but ... not overdue it!! Delicate balance, as we all know;) When I'm alone it can be bad, but ... I'm never alone anymore, which can be just as bad ~LOL!!! Boys are all tucked in, so ... time to relax a li'l before bed;) I do enjoy my quiet time now. (((((...sigh...)))))πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™β€β€

Very similar for me. I experience agonizing neck and jaw/facial pains resulting in very bad headaches also.

Oh my goodness @A MySpondylitisTeam Member! Your flare sounds miserable. Zophran is wonderful for nausia. I also sip Lemon tea and nibble on a slice of either dry or very lightly buttered toast. Ice helps with inflammation followed with heat that feels great and allows the blood to flow more freely. I actually have a heated mattress pad on my bed that is a God send to me in the winter. Have you tried Tumeric Curcumin for muscle aches? It's natural and helps me a great deal. As with everything, it doesn't work for everyone. I believe Pam said it raises her blood sugar so she had to quit taking it. Most of my friends take it daily with no problems. You might try a small bottle to see what it does for you. God bless you Sherry. I hope and pray you'll be feeling better soon. With love...QBC

Thank you everyone for your answers. So muscle spasms and nerve pain sounds like it’s really common. I usually get very quiet too.
Normally my husband and I are always goofing around but thise times he knows to be nice and leave me alone.
It is tough but it’s nice to talk to peoplethat understand.
