You are right! Past retirement age and you don't count any more. I have become more outspoken, demanding and difficult just to get heard. It seems to work! Good luck x

I have had AS for over 40 years. Yes I have a lot of pain especially in the mornings. Have to make myself stretch all my joints. Exercise is very important because it helps from them freezing up. Swimming is good for you and also water exercise is great(no stress on the joints). I have been on Naproxen 1500 mg a day for all those years too. That is the max dose per day. Humeria but caused more pain for me. When I was first diagnosed, very little was written about it. Only one paragraph in my doctors medical books. So there have been great strides to AS. All I remember about reading was an Iron Lung and a wheelchair. This was not going to slow me down for the rest of my life! I’m now a retired nurse and try to stay active. In my off days a heating pad helps for my chest pains and also my SI joint. Sleep helps with medication. I found hypnosis helped.

I take cyclobenzaprene(flexeril) almost every night and sleep on a heating pad.

A Hot soak in bathtub with Epsom salts helps me a lot on those rough sleepless nights, it helps my restless leg syndrome on occasion as well. I wont take sleeping pills, I am on enough meds already.

Hi Drew! Sometimes sleeping with your head elevated a bit helps prevent your sinuses from clogging. You might try it. Anything to help with sleeping. Sleep seems to be elusive for a lot of us on this site. God bless..Connie
