Yes. With AS comes osteopoenia / osteoporosis from all the bone material being moved around. That makes you much more likely to get compression fractures. I switched meds from Remicade to Taltz and got really messed up in the transition, which dropped my BP and got into syncope, falling down and crushing a vertebrae. Nine months later I am in PT and my back is doing pretty well. My advice: do everything you can to NOT FALL DOWN. ; )

thank you, in total I have had 13 fractures, 5 in the spine, plus a cervical fusion with plate. Most fractures came from pressure, a few from falls. I've been going to a pain management doctor for nerve blocks, as ablations did not work. I have a compressed nerve in facet joint from the T10 fracture which just takes my breath away. I'm healing now from fracture in T7, on the mend finally. Living in 24/7 pain is just the pitts. Thank you again for your support. Oh, I was on a 2 year self injection in the stomach, Forteo, for bone density. It did help some.
