I don’t have a question but rather a question. I am 70 years old and just diagnosed with AS in Sept of this year. I know this sounds crazy but Im actually relieved for my diagnosis. Im also extremely excited fro have discovered this site. All my complaints/symptoms have been validated. All my morning stiffness, fatigued , soreness, and heaviness in my arms. My ex grandfather of 69 died when diagnosed with AS and was given enbrel the enbrel caused an infection that killed him I stay away from the biologics but it’s like their only answer other than pain meds which you have to like sell your soul for.

Glad you are here! I was just diagnosed after 15 years of “there’s nothing wrong with you.” I was relieved but already diagnosed myself before I saw the doc. I will be starting Remicade. I hope your meds help. Keep us posted!

I have Blue Cross Blue shield from my employer and none of these biologics are even covered. Therefore I would have to pay all $13,000 out of pocket, no thanks. Like you said I was in person supposed to afford that.

How is a person supposed to afford to pay $13,000 a month? Is this co pays and deductibles on employer based medical insurance or Medicare and or supplement?
