I am overweight and the drs shame me for this every time I see them. They want me to lose weight, I want me to lose weight. but the problem is, how do I do that when I can't walk? seriously, I can not walk due to the pain and My legs give out? I had To buy a used scooter just so I can get from point A to point B. I recently lost 20 pounds but they came off due to me not having money to buy food. I do have a coke habit though. I drink 4 or 5 cans of that shit every day. lol. It's my only vice… read more

Whatever you do, don't quit, never give up and stay in the fight. It can be very frustrating, please don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it, if possible try to get on a biologic such as Enbrel, this has helped be with pain tremendously. Walking on a treadmill helps me because I can hold onto the bars, good luck and God bless..

Terry,

Thank you. I walk as much. as I can. without falling. I'm just to the point where I don't care anymore. Just 25 years ago I walked 5 miles a day, exercised at the gym 4 days a week, 2 days upper body and 2 days lower body. I taught nutrition and then was lead staff at an Alternative School, where I played basketball against the boys, and played volleyball. I was so active. I know that things change as we age, but damn!

Hi Dorothy. I understand. I am in the same situation and disabled. Can't walk without assistance have to use a rolator in my house and am stumbling a lot. I am taking Dilaudid three x a day just to be able to get by. If I don't force myself to walk, my legs would quickly give out. It's vital to remain mobile so you don't wind up bed ridden. I hope this advice helps .
Stay active everyday as best you can. Terry

Did you have an MRI of the hip joint? Both of my labrums were torn completely at a young age. Those were fixed (really painful recovery) but it has helped the pain I had in my hip/butt/inner thigh
