We bought one of those sleep number smart beds, that adjusts to your body as you sleep. It has made a HUGE difference in how well I sleep. I don’t wake up with my back just screaming at me. I don’t wake with zero pain, of course, but a substantial difference for sure. It was expensive, but worth every penny!!

I have a good mattress pad and sleep with one pillow under half my hip.
You have sensory nerves coming out through the discs horizontally. That creates pain when the discs are bulging and become damaged.
