I just joined this website. I’m searching for answers and advice because my current rheumatologist doesn’t seem to really know much about AS. She doesn’t believe people with AS need to use any mobility assistance as in canes and walkers. She thinks AS is only effected by the SI joints and the spine but nothing else in the body. To Sarah7: Thank you so much for your information, it was helpful. Your symptoms sound a lot like mine, my back, eyes, SI joints, hips,spine--almost everything is bothering me. I'm glad you are finally getting somewhere and getting more answers then I'm getting. I'm going back to my pain management in August, hoping they can help me. I live alone, and have no one and don't drive, and that makes it tough. I really need help, it's getting harder and harder for me to do anything. I feel for you currently in the same boat I have been diagnosed with PSA and Rheumatoid. Have sever recurring back pain that my Rheumatologist keeps blowing me off. The spell I'm in now was so severe I messaged him told him everything that is going on he gave me a prescription for Meloxicam made me so sick messaged him told him didn't work really felt I needed x-rays was told no gave me Prednisone so I went to Ortho walk in where I found out I have bamboo spine and possible A.s. I am set for and MRI my vision super blurry my Rheumatologist told me he does not know why we'll with all three of those diseases it effects your eyes I now have an app for that this week and an app with him in 2 weeks I live in a small town really no other options her but going to start looking.:( Hang in there!
