Does anyone else have chronic constipation and terrible soreness and pain in your intestines? I can barely walk sometimes. It hurts to just sit up or lay down.... I hope someone can let me know if this goes with spondylitis.....

Members strongly validated that chronic constipation and intestinal pain are common with spondylitis, with many experiencing IBS, inflammatory bowel issues, or medication side effects that make symptoms worse. Several members shared relief strategies including prescription medications like Lialda, Linzess, dicyclomine, and Movantik, daily stool softeners or Miralax, magnesium supplements, probiotics, psyllium husks, aloe juice, and dietary changes such as adding fiber, bran flakes, dates, beans, and eliminating wheat or processed foods. A recurring theme was the frustration of doctors dismissing concerns with generic advice to drink more water, the importance of seeing a gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis and treatment, and the need to experiment until finding what works since relief varies widely from person to person.

Also. I started using NativePath (natural feed cow grass) non flavor in my coffee. I add 1 scoop twice a day. There is no taste at all. It helps with my stomach issues, joints, helps with bone loss. Etc. I really recommend that. And my spine doctor is thrilled I using it. Because it helped so much.

I know that you posted this concern five months ago but I have been experiencing the same symptoms lately. I started taking organic psyllium husks at bedtime. Also, warm water with a half of lemon in the morning might help.

I have IBS associated with my spondylitis. Intestinal inflammation. It's very painful. I take Lialda given by my gastroenterologist. Have you seen a specialist for your pain? Untreated my pain would only get worse but with the right dose, it is managed well.

When I have irritable bowel pain so bad that It’s painful to walk, I take Bentel or dicyclomine. It’s a smoothe muscle relaxant which takes the pain away. You will need a prescription from a Doctor for it. It’s a life saver. You have to take it as soon as you get even a hint of crampy pain, but it works quickly.
