Does anyone on here have Arachnoiditis, I was diagnosed with it 16 years ago, and I am in torment. I am now on 647mcg. Intrathecal Fentanyl pump therapy, 2 oxycontin, 2 cymbalta, 2 lyrica, and 2 diclofenac, and it only shaves the edge off the pain at best.

Does anyone have any suggestions that might help?

I am trying acupuncture next as I hear it sometimes helps.

Thanks I advance,
Rick Lillard

Members responded with compassion to someone seeking relief from severe arachnoiditis pain that even high-dose medications barely touch, offering alternative therapies that have personally helped them regain function and mobility. Several members strongly recommended acupuncture and cupping therapy, with many sharing that these treatments helped them stand, walk, and complete daily tasks they couldn't manage before, while others suggested tools like TENS units, warm water therapy in pools or hot tubs, Thai massage, and kratom for pain and mood relief. A recurring theme was the importance of seeking second opinions and being mindful of long-term organ damage from prolonged high-dose medication use, balanced with genuine hope that complementary therapies might offer meaningful relief.

Acupuncture got me walking when I could not stand up without screaming. Try “cupping” where you can put suction cups wherever you have pain to increase circulation. It eases my pain a lot. I lie down with 10 cups on for 45-60 minutes. You can buy them on Amazon, I’m told. I bought mine from my acupuncturist. I can now do my housework a total of 3 hours a day.

Hey Rick I am so sorry to hear about your pain. I am praying 🙏 that acupuncture gives you relief. If you have access to a pool or hot tub it could help. It has helped me a lot.

It is a leaf from the Mitragyna speciosa tree which is ground up, dried and swallowed. For many people it gives pain relief and lifts their mood. I use it for relief from Irritable Bowel Syndrome and it works great for that.
