Well, the problem with waiting is that the damage keeps happening and the pain doesn't stop. After 4 back surgeries I wouldn't hesitate to have a replacement. But that's me. Hugs
Just curious how many people have had to have surgery because of AS? Whether fusions, ablations and so on.

Hello everyone! I need some advice. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and have a really hard time with anti-inflammatory meds. All of the nsaids that my Drs have given me to this point and the otc ones I've tried on my own have really done a nasty number on my stomach. Are you still stiff in hips, legs without meds?
Ask your doctor about potential medication that will help. You don't have to suffer.

2023 - Degenerative Disc Disease. Spine falling apart. Trying acupuncture as opposed to surgery.

I also have DDS,a couple back surgeries,was diagnosed with RA which I don't know about since I found out that I was diagnosed with AS...I have a "cage" between L4-L5 and I was informed that I have bone growth over it now and I was also told I need to have another back surgery...there are times when the Fibro and the AS both kick in that I have a really hard time with the pain...I have used Prednisone at 60mg per day, methotrexate only 16 mg a week, opioids, which I just quit again 40 mgs a day… read more
