I have been having pain in my shins towards the outside and close to my knees. It sounds like shin splints, but I am not a runner. My guess it's one more site of enthesitis, but I'm just wondering if anyone else gets this.
Question...I saw this asked 2 years ago by someone but didn't see many answers. My inflammation markers are negative and HLAB27 is +. I have (in 4 years) developed severe joint facet arthropathy in my lumbar spine and also have SI degeneration. My rheumatologist doesn’t want to start me in biologics, and I can’t take Ibuprofen or Tylenol, and prednisone didn’t work, my CRP & ESR have been elevated for nearly 2 years. I’m a mess of several commodities.
Can you take naproxen sodium? Aleeve?

I have been prescribed codeine tablets but find these make me so badly constipated and don’t always help with the pain.
I find the most effective pain relief to be Tramadol but my Doctor will not issue them.
Am I better off just leaving my practice and going to a different doctor ?

Just found out at age 73 that I have ankylosis spondylitis. Rheumatologist recommended infusion therapy and just looking for information on other treatments. SI joint is most concerning with moderate hip pain later in the day
Pain is not bad and rarely take over the counter medication at this time
Unfortunately, medicine doesn’t want to discuss side effects. One of my major side effects is not being able to sleep. I take both Gabapentin and Lyrica.
