I was recently diagnosed with AS. I had started Celebrex 3 days before meeting my rheumatologist. The rheumatologist barely read my chart or listened to anything I was saying before telling me I need to start Humira. My inflammation markers are all down to normal ranges after Celebrex. Steroids are only for short term relief and are damaging in the long term. You can get huge relief from a biologic injection.
I have cervical and lumbar spondylitis, oa, fibromyalgia, and DDD. In 8 years I have lost 4 inches in height. Get Injections, so I can stave off back surgery. Am 60 years old, do PT, and use a walker because I am a fall risk. Am on gabapentin, flexeril, and nabumetone. If people haven't tried the latter, ask your Dr about it. It started in the New Year.. and has just been steadily worsening .: I have increased erosion in both hips, and my SI joints and stenosis in my lower spine.. would that cause the buttocks pain ?

I wish lidocaine worked on me. My go-to is nontransdermal 1:1 CBD:THC cream. Non-transdermal means it does not get into bloodstream to cause a high, just works on muscle/joint tissues for pain relief.
The nsaids won't hide damage on an mri.
I have just been prescribed Enbrel. I was on steroids and diclofenic 75mg twice a day. But it just helps my lower back a little bit.
