Hi @A MySpondylitisTeam Member! When I was still sick, I used a special posture at work. My stomach was resting on the edge of the table top, and my body was tilted back. This is how I managed to sit for several hours without leaving my desk. I was moving to my left and then my right foot while standing! This relaxes the lumbar spine. ------------ Ahoj Trisha10! To uvolňuje bederní páteř.

SI joint pain and stiffness from sitting is such a common struggle with spondylitis — you're definitely not alone in this! Here are some chair and workstation tips that can help:

- Ergonomic chair or seat cushion — Look for chairs with good lumbar support to reduce strain on your lower back and SI joints.
- Footstool or footrest — Raising your feet slightly while seated can help reduce pressure on the SI joint area.
- Standing desk or convertible laptop stand — Alternating between sitting and standing throughout the day can make a big difference.
- Treadmill desk — A slow-moving treadmill under your desk keeps you gently moving while you work. One MySpondylitisTeam member swears by a bike/desk combo, saying it encouraged better posture and made a noticeable difference within just one week.

No matter what setup you choose, the key is avoiding long periods of sitting. Taking frequent breaks to stand, walk, and do gentle stretches is really important for managing stiffness. An occupational therapist or physical therapist can also give personalized recommendations for your workstation setup.
