Members shared practical strategies for exercising during cold, damp weather when muscle stiffness becomes a barrier, with many recommending layering thermal clothing, using portable space heaters to warm up workout areas, and exploring free YouTube videos for indoor physical therapy exercises. Several members described using heated accessories like hand warmers, gloves, throws, and heated pads to stay warm during activity, while others suggested dressing in long underwear or snow pants to stay comfortable during outdoor walks. A recurring theme was the challenge of balancing energy costs with the need for warmth, with members from various climates bonding over shared struggles with cold, damp conditions that affect their joints.

Well my friend, all is not always as it seems. I live in NWFL. October through March can be consistently cloudy, cold and damp, average temps in the 40s-60sF. We have that "cuts right through you" kind of damp cold similar to the UK. Yes, we do have more heat and sunny days more frequently. But with humidity close to 80% or higher, warm weather is not much easier on synovial cavities. Love life in place where you're at is my motto. Pros and cons everywhere. All the best to you and yours Jan, yours in better health P ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ™

Hi Pitac yes I know now what is they are fan heaters but use a lot of electricity which is what we are trying to keep down, as in debt with the electricity as I do use a lot, the heat pad is great but only uses 1p an hour but I am sitting down will google some wearable warm clothes, wish I lived where you did it would help a lot.
I bought a heated throw but again sitting down.
Thank you take care

I found that dressing in layers with long underwear under jeans, or even a thin snow pant allows me to bundle up and go for walks to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors. I live in Montreal Canada, it's an island, so the weather is hot, humid in summer and cold and damp in winter. Also here we can get these little hot pads to put in our mitts and boots, they help too. I find you have to research and look for ways to be able to keep warm. Hope it helps abit.
