How Does Ankylosing Spondylitis Affect the Body? Read Article...

Hi @A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Yes, Ankylosing Spondylitis is a very sophisticated disease! You don't have anxiety, stress, worry about the future? The very confirmation of the disease worsens the condition! It is wrong to boast about the disease, to wear T-shirts with a picture of the disease, to constantly remind ourselves of ankylosing spondylitis! It is healing to forget about the disease, to look forward to recovery, to laugh, to sing, to fool around like a little child... Just live according to our God! This disease is supposed to teach us that. I received two gifts from God. The first, Bechterev's disease, and the second, the gift, healing. I appreciate these gifts very much! The gift of knowledge is a wonderful gift. I studied for thousands of hours before I understood AS. I still continue my studies. It's my life's work. ----------------------------------- Ahoj Laura.

Hi @A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Contemporary medical medicine has no cure for Bechterew! Doctors are only mitigating the consequences. Alternative medicine is further away. Ankylosing spondylitis can be cured!! Several treatment protocols have already been developed. Repeating healing is difficult. Treatment must be done in time! It is no longer enough for a fused spine. There are useful orthopedists and surgeons! The disease resides 'in the head'! If you are interested, read my posts. --------------------------------- Ahoj Duane2. Současná lékařská medicína nemá na Bechtěreva žádný lék! Lékaři jen tlumí následky. Alternativní medicína je dále. Nemoc je uzdravitelná! Je již vypracováno několik protokolů léčby. Opakování uzdravení je složité. Léčit se musí včas! Na srostlou páteř již nestačí. Tam jsou užiteční ortopedi a chirurgové! Nemoc sídlí "v hlavě"! Máš - li zájem přečti si moje příspěvky.

What are the newest treatment options for ankylosing spondylitis?

The most recent treatment options for ankylosing spondylitis include JAK inhibitors, which represent a newer class of medication. These are synthetic disease-modifying drugs that can be taken orally, making them more convenient than injections.

Specific JAK inhibitors that have shown effectiveness include:
- Upadacitinib (Rinvoq), which has been shown to help people with axial spondyloarthritis achieve partial remission
- Other JAK inhibitors that block inflammatory signals in the body

JAK inhibitors work by blocking signals that cause inflammation, offering another option when traditional treatments aren't enough.

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) inhibitors are another advanced biologic option. These include medications like secukinumab (Cosentyx), which target a different pathway than traditional TNF inhibitors.

These newer treatments join the existing biologic options like TNF inhibitors (such as adalimumab/Humira and etanercept/Enbrel), giving you and your doctor more choices to find what works best for your specific situation. Since medications can take weeks or months to reach full effectiveness, and some may work better for you than others, having these additional options is encouraging.
