As an avid lifter.
I can say the options are almost unlimited.
The beauty about lifting is you can modify the lift to fit your needs.

Things I do:
1.) Seated biceps curls.
2.) Seated forearm curls.
3.) Bench press.
4.) Seated incline upper chest press.
5.) Seated upper chest fly-press.
6.) Seated shoulder raises with dumbells.
7.) Seated lat pulls.
8.) Seated calf raises.
9.) Seated behind the head shoulder raises.
10.) Standing single arm tricep pulls.
11.) Seated quad extension
12.) Seated hamstring extension

The options are nearly endless if you know how to modify the lift to fit you needs.

I can't deadlift, squat, or any aggressive lower body workouts.

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Thanks Wren, yes, when the first MRI suggested perineural cyst I didnt bat an eyelash. But this last one that says nerve sheath tumor, and two of them, has my attention. I'll see my Neurologist next week for follow up with latest brain/neck scan and ask him to order another lumbar comparison. If nothing else, maybe all the radiation will dissolve them 😏. Keeping a sense if humor🙃. It's a personal merry-go-round. Yours in better health P

@A MySpondylitisTeam Member. Yes, id be interested in your opinion Wren. The Fitness Doctor is doing a free one week webinar class soon. I posted the link to it a few days ago. If you're interested and cant find the link in my prior posts under my timeline let me know and I'll see if i can find it. Because of your interest and experience in that type of exercise im keen to get your opinion. With all my lumbar, hip, knee, and ankle dramas it's challenging for me, but i do the best i can to get in as good a shape as i can before potential spine surgery later in the year. Im going to get another MRI first to be sure of what type of cysts are down there. Im hoping it's just something that can be monitored. I really am sick of my fitness getting disrupted with procedures and travel. It's so important for us to hang onto the best possible level of physical fitness to survive this garbage. I used to be in phenomenal shape. Of course, at the time i didnt think so, but looking back i now know how anazingly capable my body used to be. Aging is one thing, but this is more like disintegrating. 🥴

Eat half your body weight in grams of protein daily. Hydroxymethybutyrate (HMB) supplements are helpful. Some tout creatine supplements too, but stear clear of that one if you are prone to kidney problems. Theres a guy online that is awesome with his team of physical therapy drs and their analytic training program. Robbie Stahl the Fitness Doctor. He has an upcoming weeklong free webinar if you want to check him out. Also, Dr Yoni Whitten has great short clip You Tube videos for muscle training..
