I've been sleeping and have a spasm in my face, (it's not new) and I realized I'm biting down on the back of my tongue. When I first noticed it, it was on one side. Now it's both sides. It wakes me up. Does anyone else experience this?
Hi Lola2 I have a small mouth & night guards come in different sizes. Most drug stores carry them. They help keep your bite in place & with bruxism. It's worth a try. There are several explanations stated above. Some have directions to boil water so they conform to your bite. You could probably ask the pharmacist and explain your situation & they may be able to offer suggestions on which would be best for your situation. I hope this helps. π€π€π€. I hope this will resolve your issues. God bless & may you find relief π & a great night's sleep.β€
I have the dryness in the mouth all the time. Thought it was my Tylenol causing it, BTW everybody, hope you don't mind me being on this thread. My spondylitis is not "NR". It's very visible on x-rays and CTs.
I have had this happen. The first few times it woke me and I was afraid to go back to sleep. Does it feel like you jaw snap shut very suddenly? That is how it happens with me. Iβll be asleep and itβs like my jaw slams shut. Itβs very disturbing.
I agree with the night or mouth guards. I believe that may help you.
There are over the counter mouth guards at Walmart. About $20. I started having TMJ-better issues recently. I didn't like the mouth guard, it didn't fit right. But I have found if I sleep in the recliner I don't wake up with my jaw popping.
If your cast for your teeth doesn't work you can pick up a bite gaurd at any pharmacy
